2 Ways to Save on Your Car Insurance with Lifestyle Discounts

by Anita on February 23, 2017

Paying your car insurance bill each month is definitely a drag, but not for those who keep the coverage, but cut the premium! With Freedom Insurance Group, offering auto and home insurance in Philadelphia, you won’t have to look anywhere else. We will take your budget and work with you to find the best coverage you can get. We understand that the last thing you want to pay for is your car insurance bill (or any bill for that matter), that is why we want to open your mind to two ways you can start saving!

  1. Good Student Discount

If you or your child is under the age of 22, you are eligible for a discount of up to 20% just for getting good grades. Use this as motivation to study harder and grind those gears! It will save you money you can use on nights out with friends, travel, and, of course, coffee. All of those A’s you have worked so hard for will literally pay off with the Good Student Discount. Students will need a B average to qualify for this benefit.

  1. Defensive Driving Courses for Senior Citizens

As people age, it is important to adjust accordingly to weaker vision and slower reflexes as well as acquire the skills of up-to-date driving techniques. By offering a defensive driving course to improve the ability of seniors behind the wheel, insurance companies are able to offer discounts on their car insurance. Because senior citizens have a high risk of collision, it is very important to be covered by the right insurance while saving where you can. Consider taking Defensive Driving Courses to lower your monthly payment and still receive the same coverage to protect you.

Car insurance in Bensalem, PA and surrounding areas, can be lowered with these lifestyle discounts. Please consider saving on your bill by letting us at Freedom Insurance Group take you under our wing. All of our clients are treated like family; we are all in this together. We want to help you save as much money as we can while ensuring that you get the coverage you and your family deserves.

5 Key Ways to Save in the New Year

by Anita on January 26, 2017

Since 2017 hit, everyone has been looking for ways to save this year. 2016 wasn’t so kind, and with bill after bill, it can be overwhelming.  Instead of worrying about tomorrow, it’s important to think about today. What can you do?

We at Freedom Insurance Group have put our heads together to come up with ideas for you to think about so you can save money this year. It’ll be a hard, long road, but the extra money will add up over time, eventually saving you quite a lot. Ride it out with us, and see where it takes you.

  1. Switch up your grocery habits
First, you have to ask yourself, “What are my grocery habits?” This bill varies significantly from household to household, and it can be anywhere from $70-$1,500 a month for just two adults. If you have a larger family, you could be spending even more than that. By changing things up a little bit, shopping around, using coupons or making a few sacrifices, you could lower your monthly costs by a lot. Ice cream isn’t always necessary (but most of the time it is).
  2. Never pay the full price
Coupons are the answer — that is, if you really need what you have in your cart. Always make sure you are buying something you actually need, and not just because it’s on sale. Search online for coupons, check your mail, ask at stores, and talk to your friends for advice. That way, you are never paying for items you need at full price.
  3. Reduce your energy costs
There are many things you can do in your home to reduce your monthly bills. Get a programmable thermostat. Check the caulking on your windows and doors. Replace all the lightbulbs in your home with energy efficient LED bulbs. Turn the temperature of your water heater down. By changing your day-to-day, you can lower the costs of heating, water and electricity bills.
  4. Review your insurance to see if you can save money
Reach out to us at Freedom Insurance Group. We not only want you to be able to save money on your bills, but we also want to help you save on insurance — any kind of insurance. We can take care of your homeowners insurance, life insurance, car insurance and much more. We will not only find you the best prices, but we will work with you and your personalized budget to get you just want you need.
  5. Are you eligible for life-changing discounts?
If you have married recently, or bought a new home or car, we are here to cut you some slack. Give us a call today to see if you are eligible.

Our customers are family to us, and that includes you. If you have a little extra money in your pocket, to us, that’s a job well done. Just think what you could do with those savings! You could go out into the world and enjoy yourself or spend some quality time together with your family. Please contact Freedom Insurance Group today and start saving.

4 Sensible Shopping Safety Tips for the Holiday Season

by Anita on December 20, 2016

It is that crazy time of year, when getting behind the wheel of a car or approaching the grocery store seems like a feat in and of itself. Danger lurks in the mundane things that many wouldn’t even consider a problem normally. Why is that? The holiday crowds. Everyone is out and about during the holiday season shopping for extra food supplies, gifts, and the like. Their schedules are busy and stop lights aren’t in their best interests. It is a dangerous time, and we at Freedom Insurance Group want to make sure that you are safe. To us, our clients are like extended family, and we don’t want anything bad to happen, especially during the holidays.

In order to stay safe while shopping, it is best to keep a few things in mind.

Even though you are rushed, stay alert.

If you are stuck in your head, going over lists, or too involved in what you are doing, you will lose track of your surroundings. This goes for both when you are on foot as well as when you are in your car! If you’re thinking about a million things, you could easily run into something or get yourself into a situation. We want to remind you to keep your head up!

Do not overload yourself with purchases.

Carrying multiple items can crowd you, make you off balance, and act as a large distraction from your surroundings. If you’re doing a lot of shopping, consider stopping off at your car, unloading, and hiding your purchases in the trunk. This will reduce the strain on you and keep you on your toes.

Avoid wearing expensive jewelry, protect your purse or wallet, and beware of approaching strangers.

You know what this means. It is a bad idea to ever leave your valuables unattended in a crowd, and even worse not to check them. Keep good attendance of your belongings; this time of year is notorious for con-artists who can distract you with the intention of taking your valuables. Do not let that happen by keeping an awareness about you.

Shop with friends or family.

There is always safety in numbers, especially when all who are present remain vigilant and look out for one another.

This year, let’s keep safety in mind; Freedom Insurance Group wants you to have a successful shopping experience while also being able to enjoy yourself. We know all about the bustle the holidays bring, but with stress levels high, you are more susceptible to theft and injury. Please be careful.

Winter is Coming! Here are Tips to Winterize Your Car This Year

by Anita on November 15, 2016

As November winds down, we can see that more and more leaves are crowding the ground and the frost is beginning to set in. The threat of snow is coming, and your car is vulnerable. We at Freedom Insurance Group, Inc. want to make sure you’re prepared for anything in these coming months because driving through Pennsylvania’s snowy weather can be a harrowing experience that requires composure and concentration. However, the weather is just as hard on your vehicle as it is on you. We compiled this list of basic tips to help you winterize your car so you’re ready for Old Man Winter.

  • Check your tires.
When the temperature drops, your tires will most likely lose pressure. It is important to confirm that your tire pressure is up to par in all four and your spare. Also, because having worn tires on a slick road is extremely dangerous, it is necessary to make sure they have a good tread. You can also consider switching to winter tires, which are designed for optimal tread in slippery conditions. Along with that, be sure to check your tire-changing equipment just in case anything happens, like potholes – we’re all familiar with those.

  • Make sure you have visibility.
If your windshield wiper blades are leaving streaks on your glass or if they are showing any signs of cracking or stiffness, it is time to replace them. Also, with all of the dirt, mud and salt residue being sprayed off the road, it is necessary to keep your windshield washer reservoir filled with a washer solution that contains an antifreeze agent.

  • Keep your gas tank full.
A full tank of gas prevents moisture from freezing in the gas lines while also preventing you from running out in freezing winter conditions.

There are so many other tips we want to share with you, but we could go on and on. When you’re in doubt, get your car a tune-up to check your cooling system, battery, engine oil, etc. to make sure everything is okay and ready for the winter. At Freedom Insurance Group, Inc., we believe that if you treat your car with care, it will last you through the hectic months ahead. We think of you like family and want everyone to be safe and happy this coming season!

The Requirement of Auto Insurance in PA and the Elimination of Stress to Find the Right One

by Anita on October 11, 2016

In the state of Pennsylvania, many people own automobiles as their main mode of transportation. Let’s face it, how else are you getting to work? It’s just easier to drive a car when trains and buses are often late or unreliable. However, in order to get behind the wheel of a car, there are many requirements.

Skipping the basics, let’s jump right to auto insurance: drivers are legally required to carry bodily injury liability limits of $15,000/30,000, medical benefits of $5,000, and $5,000 in property damage. It seems like a lot, but when it’s all sorted through in your auto insurance, it can be made simple by a trustworthy agency like ourselves at Freedom Insurance Group, Inc. Instead of shopping for a complicated process, it’s easier to, instead, get one shaped for your needs and your car.

There are additional options to choose from, offered by most auto insurances:

  • Motorist protection
  • Roadside assistance: 24-hour/7 days a week support in the event of an emergency (such as, a dead battery, running out of gas, vehicle breakdown, etc.)
  • Death benefits
  • Loss of work
  • Full coverage auto insurance: this covers your vehicle for comprehensive and collision in the event of an accident or damage to your vehicle.

Right now, there are seven million cars registered in Pennsylvania. Can you imagine? That is no bluff; auto insurance is a real need to many people, covering one, two, even multiple cars in their garage. When you look at the statistics on how many miles are driven annually, the cost of auto insurance in 2016 being averaged at $120/month isn’t so surprising.

Annual miles driven by age group:

  • 16-19 years old: 7,624 miles
  • 20-34 years old: 15,098 miles
  • 35-54 years old: 15,291 miles
  • 55-64 years old: 11,972 miles
  • 65+ years old: 7,646 miles
  • Average: 13,476 miles

If people are driving so much, certainly the risk of a collision is higher. Many insurance companies are constantly raising rates the more and more people get behind the wheel. And that is why we are here for you–to help you, to work with you, and to give you “freedom from the high cost of insurance.” Our name entails just that: we want to save you money and treat you like family because we believe that no one should have to suffer when they are just trying to get to work on time.

  1. Home
Homeowners insurance entails protection against damages to your house itself as well as to the possessions inside. While it covers damages to your property, it also covers your liability for any injuries or damages incurred by family members or pets to other people’s properties.
  1. Life
Life insurance has two major types: term and whole life. Whole life insurance is often referred to as permanent life insurance, as it pays a death benefit whenever you pass away, even if you live to be 100. Term insurance is more simple; it only pays if you pass away during the term of the policy.
  1. Renters
Renters insurance provides liability insurance, covering the tenant’s personal property against perils like fire, theft and vandalism.

Freedom Insurance Group, Inc. will give you the best insurance possible to keep you covered while limiting any kind of risk. When you feel safe with a little extra in your pocket, that is a job well done. How To Keep Your Car Cool In The Summer

by Anita on July 13, 2016

car shadeThe heat can make us all feel miserable and getting in a hot car only makes it worse. The stifling air and hot steering wheel make you rethink public transportation. There are plenty of easy things you can do to keep your car cool in the heat. Putting a sun shade on your windshield will block the rays from the sun heating your steering wheel and front seats. Tinted windows are another good way to block the sun not only when your car is parked but also while driving.  Be sure to check with your car insurance agent for your state’s laws regarding the restrictions for the darkness of the tint allowed. When parking your car, look for a shaded area or a spot where the sun hits the back of your vehicle as opposed to the front. Covering your leather seats with a towel or cooling pads will help keep the seats somewhat cooler and not expose your skin to the hot leather. Have your air conditioner serviced and recharge your system or add refrigerant if needed. When getting in your car turn the air on full blast and crack your windows slightly until the air inside the car is cool.  Waiting to put children and pets in the car until the car cools down is strongly suggested.  We hope you find these tips resourceful.  We hope you stay safe and comfortable in these summer months!

Pet Injury Coverage on your auto insurance policy

by Anita on June 30, 2016

Do you have a pet that enjoys going on rides with you and the family? Do you frequently take your dog to a dog park? Do you know that some auto insurance companies have pet injury insurance coverage included under the collision coverage provision on your auto insurance policy? There is no added cost but is available to only dogs and cats. We all know in the state of Pennsylvania, car insurance is mandatory to protect ourselves, our passengers and others. It’s nice to know we can protect our pets as well in the unfortunate case of an auto accident. In order to have pet injury coverage, you need to have collision insurance on at least one vehicle on your auto insurance policy. Because it is included in your collision insurance, there are no deductibles. If your dog or cat is injured as a result of an accident, your auto policy through the collision coverage will assist with paying for the veterinary bills and medicine needed if your pet is injured while driving with you in your vehicle. Keep in mind, pet injury coverage is not the same as pet insurance. Pet insurance typically is purchased by the owner and covers veterinary bills when your pet is sick or injured. Pet insurance sometimes has a deductible and maximums. In order to provide pet injury coverage be sure to tell your insurance agent at Freedom Insurance Group Inc, about your pet so that you can provide the same peace of mind to your loved pet as you do to your passengers. In the worse case scenario, you can be granted up to $1,000.00 if your pet dies as a result of a comprehensive/collision claim. If your vehicle should happen to be stolen with the pet inside, the $1,000.00 death benefit will apply also.

Summer Home Maintenance Tips – Freedom Insurance Group

Summer Home Maintenance Tips

Photo Of Couple Holding Tools - Freedom Insurance GroupThe weather is warm, the sun is shining and we all want to be outdoors. But with being outdoors comes safety measures around your home. You want to be able to enjoy your weekends so spend some time now preparing your home and outdoors for entertaining. If you have a deck, you want to be sure your insurance agent is aware so that it is properly insured on your homeowners policy. A deck is a great place to hang out but needs to be in good shape to entertain. You want to remove or replace any wood that is damaged to reduce the risk of a fall or injury that could result in a homeowners claim. Check the deck for any cracked, rotting or loose wood. Be sure all nuts and bolts are secured. If your deck is sealed or stained it is recommended to refinish it yearly. With just a mild detergent and water you can effectively clean the outside of your home from any bird, dust or dirt that has accumulated over the winter months. Cleaning out your dryer vents not only creates a more energy efficient dryer but also reduces the risk of a dryer fire. Dryer vents can be easily cleaned with a small brush or duster. Swing sets and trampolines should be checked for loose bolts and springs. You can find bug repellent and bee hive treatments at most home stores to keep your guests and family members free of bug bites. Check your grass and rocks for any divots or small holes the winter or animals have made to avoid any tripping hazards or falls. Taking time to do some simple maintenance will allow you the free time you deserve this summer and also put your mind at ease knowing you have reduced the chances for a home insurance claim.

Why do I need renters insurance?

by Anita on June 17, 2016

Whether you are renting a family home or an apartment, renters insurance will protect you in many ways.  If you have a break-in or an injury that occurs while a guest is visiting, renters insurance will assure that you will covered in the event of a sustained loss within the property you are renting.  Let’s say in an awful situation, you have a fire in the property and lose your possessions, renters insurance will recoup what items you lost due to the fire.  If you have personal property above the average such as jewelry or collections of importance, Freedom Insurance Group can help you decide what additional coverage you may need to protect specific items.  If you have a break-in your material items are covered the same way.  Your renters policy will also provide you with coverage for additional living expenses if you need to relocate temporarily while repairs are made due to the fire.  We all like to entertain and enjoy time with our friends and if a friend was hurt or sustained an injury in our home we would be sick with worry.  Renters insurance takes the fear of your friends injury being a financial burden if a trip to the hospital or doctors is necessary.  It also alleviates any awkwardness between friends.  Renters insurance in Pennsylvania is very affordable and most companies offer flexible payment plans for as little as $175.00 a year.  renters
